1. .......Making lovely cards (and missing challenge deadlines)I just love these colours and this layout was lovely to use, wish I could remember where I saw it tho! Lovely birthday card for a lovely friend. This was from Papertake im sure! My friend is getting married soon and I thought this image was perfect for an RSVP.A special card for an extra special Daddy, I got my Mum to put it in his suitcase so he will have it on sunday as sadly he is away. I hope he likes it.

The stamp came free with a magazine and all the papers were from a set that I got at a craft fair, unfortunatly I dont have the label so I dont know who made it! Anyway I hope you like it.

Colour Create Challenge

I was asked to make 2 cards for my Mums friends at work, this one I did for the Colour Create Challenge YOUR CHOICE OF PASTELS I chose pink, green, turquiose and a little bit of purple.

Im quite pleased with it. I wanted to make something special as its for her Mums 60th, but I think maybe I could have done better!

I used plain paper, card and lovely lovely ribbons and bows from my stash and gorgeous patterned paper from K&Co Sparkly Sweet and Papermania Sweet Nothings.

Im off now to go create more some wonders :) I am inspired today.

Mojo Monday contest

You can always rely on Mojo Monday for a brilliant sketch and I make many cards to complete their challenges, even if I dont get round to posting them!

This is the first time however I have completed one of the monthly contests, this was such a nice sketch to work with, I feel like I always say that!

Im getting in early with my friends birthday card, I dont need to post it for another 3 weeks, but I think this layout and the images are perfect for her. I was so happy to finally use some of the Sweet Stack from DCWV and letters from the Honey and Hugs collection. Ive had them for a while but they are so pretty Ive been a bit scared of using them! I hope you like it, Im sure she will :)

Totally Paper Crafts

I just loved loved loved loved working with this totally brilliant sketch from TotallyPaperCrafts, you see what I did there! I cant say enough how great it is, it could be used for so many different kinds of cards, but for now its my Grandad's easter card.

CUTE! Well I think it is. Except for the gems in the middle of the flowers all the materials were from a Goody bag I picked up at a card demo a few weeks ago. Its from the Papermania Capsule collection. The Sunshine range. Its lovely to work with and if I had the money Id buy one of each.

10 things for (the rest of) 2010

Sometimes I need to make lists just to make sure I get things done, and I think this is a perfect illustration of the point. Somethings on this list I have been wanting to do/ have a go at for ages and never got round to. By putting it on here I have to do it, and ofcourse share the results.
So no more stalling these are 10 things I would like to make this year.

1. A bag charm. I finally have the perfect bag, not too big, not too small, goes with everything, has the right number of pockets and so on. Now I just need to fancy it up a bit.
2. A 1 off tshirt. Nothing plain and boring like most of my wardrobe.
3. A special birthday cake and gift. The old man hits the big 6-0 this year and I love my Daddy so Id like to something special for him.
4. A collage for my bedroom wall.
5. A cookbook. One that looks great and then I want to actually use the recipes!

6. A Charm necklace / Statement necklace. I always see lovely necklaces but I never wear them so I figure if I make it I will love it and then wear it.
7. Something patchwork. It looks so cute.
8. Calendars for 2011
9. Homemade toiletries. This may just be a pipedream.
10 Sketch books, I want to draw, collage, design, photograph just for the love of it.

Making changes

Ive been thinking of changing this blog slightly, I am kind of fickle! I want to do more then making cards, I do do more then making cards and I want to share those things with you too, and in turn I want to be inspired more, by nature, print, colour and the other wonderful things I see.
Currently Im working on a list of things I would like to accomplish, I need something concrete to focus myself, hopefully I will have something more to share tomorrow.

Another change from Birthday cards comes in the shape of an Anniversary card for my Mums cousins in South Africa. Its my entry for this weeks My Grafico sketch.
This was such a lovely sketch to work with, I will definitly be using this layout to make other cards.Once again I got to use papers from my stash that I thought I would never use! My Mum loved it when I gave it to her, hopefully they will like it too. If I was making valentines cards I would probably make these again.

I feel like I have been making nothing but Birthday cards recently, they are always needed after all. But now my mojo has returned and I had a bit of variety.

First up is my entry for this weeks Papertake challenge I made a simple, but I think beautiful note card to send to my friend's maid of honour to thank her for my invite to the Hen do along with the cheque for my theatre ticket.

All the delicate flowers were free with a crafty magazine. BONUS.

Next up is my entry for the colour challenge on My Grafico

Brown, Olive Green and Pink. Im not sure who its for, it will join the stash in the draw for now. I used papers from K&Co and Buttons from Basic Grey.

Im so so happy with the card I made for this weeks Mojo Monday. I did the square one as you can see.
Its one of the cards I made for my Aunt, I think it would be suitable for 12 year old girl, I hope she agrees.

On a sad note the craft shop in my town is closing in 2 weeks!!!!!!!! As the owners are retiring. So I like many other knitters, sewers and crafters in the area have been keeping them busy building up their supplies before the shop shuts, I have bought some papers, stamps and today I go bows, buttons and flowers. They are so pretty but I will down again many times in the next 2 weeks Im sure.

Im getting in early with this card, and its so pretty, and pink and ladylike. As an added bonus I have completed 3 challeneges with this one. Firstly My Time To Craft elegant rose and then this lovely sketch from My Grafico and finally it just about fits for Crazy for Challenges Pretty in Pink. Anyway its time for the card, drum roll please......

Its my Mothers day card, see I told you it was early! The text simple says MUM, in sparkly gold, only the best for my Mummy. Materials, Papermania, Doodle bug, MME and some from my stash.

I showed it to my Pops and he said it was lovely and very ladylike so suggested that I make one for my Aunts order. I didnt want to make it exactly the same so I changed it slightly, and came up with this beauty (Im not at all big headed)hahaha, hope you like them.

Remember I said I was asked to make 6 birthday cards for my aunt, well I sent them off last week and 2 days later I had a check in the post along with a letter asking for 12 more by the end of March!!!!!! Im in demand!

To meet this request Ive been busy completing 3 challenges with 1 card. I took my inspiration from My Time to Craft for the theme of cats; Allsorts with the colour combination Pink and Brown, and Papertake for the sketch.

Im not too sure if I actually like this card much, my Mum thinks its great but she has to say that! Im going to work on it for a bit and hopefully post a version I am happier with later, this post will have a kind of before and after section. I do like the cat though :)

This is the new and improved version. Ive stuk to just pink and brown added some boarders and dropped the you are. I think for this card simple is better. I finished it this afternoon when I got back from work.

O and I flipped the background, but that was from a happy accident (I got the measurements wrong!!) I still like the cat.

My Aunt was so impressed with her Christmas card that she has asked me to make her 6 Birthday cards, shes going to pay me for them too! Thats a little bit more to add to the holiday fund.

This is one of the thank you cards I made for Christmas, and its my personal favourite. It was going to be for Mojo Monday too, but I forgot to add the embellishment! OOoooops! But its still going to be entered in this weeks Creative Inspiration challenge.
I used one of my new stamps that I got at a Christmas Market along with lots of paper from my stash that I seem to have collected with out realising! I also got to use up some of the silver letters I used for my Christmas Cards. You cant see the writing in this picture but it does say THANK YOUBut you can see it in this close up of the lovely stamp. Yes thats me, I just love making my Christmas presents, here a few select pieces.

A chocolate selection for my sweet toothed Grandad. If eating Chocolate everyday gets you to 93 and still in pretty good shape then it cant be too bad.It doesnt really look like much but my Brother reads A LOT. He has 4 books on the go at the moment and it has his name on the back. Although being the dumb-ass that he his at time he didnt get that I had made it for him! USELESS BOY!Earrings for the best friend and pendant for the Sister in law. I made them in my silver jewellery class last term.Beaded earrings for the Mother, she doesnt like silver as she is "an Autumn" Im doing an advanced (well continuation, but advanced sounds better) beading class in Feburary so hopefully I will come out of that being able to do some really fancy stuff, that ofcourse I will share with you.

I hope everybody has a had a wonderful Christmas whatever you have been doing. I will probably be busy with the family and best friend for a while but Im already looking forward to blogging again in the new year. Im seeking inspiration for new projects the Christmas cards kept me very busy.

Mojo Monday

Ive had this card for Mojo Monday almost finished since Tuesday, I needed to wait for my trip to Hobbycraft to buy the tape to finish it off. It was such a FAB sketch I couldnt wait to get started on it.

This is the first card I did and my entry for the challenge.

Font: French Script. I think it fits perfectly

Paper: October Afternoon. Ive had this paper for so long now Im so glad Ive finally used it.

This card for my boss, I think she will be suitably impressed. I went to extra effort to make sure I got everything straight and spelt correctly. She is the kind of person that would say "I can see its handmade, youve spelt Christmas wrong"

I loved working with this sketch so much that I have made quite a few more cards based on the initial design, with a few slight tweeks.

Im taking a break from Christmas cards tomorrow I need to do a good luck and birthday card before I finish my Christmas cards. Perhaps I will use the next Mojo Monday Challenge.

This is my entry for this weeks sketch saturday, posted just in time. Firstly the sketch...

so much possiblity here. I decided to use the sketch to make a card for somebody special.I changed it a little bit, but I like it this way. My Pa has gone back to work now so he wont be home for Christmas which makes me sad but then it makes me happy (ish) to know he has this to open on the big day.

I used papers from Basic Grey and Dovercraft, Card from my Stash and Tinsel Dots from Crafty people.

Ive been feeling a bit down recently so Ive been trying to keep myself busy. Ive made so many cards, some not for challenges, some for challenges. Only thing is Ive been so busy I cant remember what challenges they were!!! That probably means Ive missed the deadline, oops!

O well I love the cards anyway so they are still worth showing off.

Ill start with the 2 birthday cards I made for my Mum a coiple of weeks ago, I cant remember what I used to make them as it was all from my stash. This is the one from me ...
...and this is the one from my Dad.

These are my favourite 2 christmas cards I made this weekend. I used lots of the basic grey papers I bought last weekend at the Christmas Craft show at the NEC. They are so lovely to work with.

But my favourite bit is the Trimcraft paper at the bottom, and the tinsel toppers. I love christmas.

I think Ive only managed this once before, so I am actually feeling really really pleased with myself for managing to complete 2 challeneges with 1 card. Firstly the cooking challenge on a spoonful of sugar, and then at My time to craft the challenge was to rip it up.

Here is what I came up with.

This one is a bit clearer, but you still have to look closely at the top of the light blue strip to see where I have ripped it!!

Busy hands

Here are a few of the things I have been keeping myself busy with for the past week.

I liked the purple ones so much I made the same in green. I think the lay out was from a sketch from Mojo Monday, but I was too slow in finding my camera so missed my chance to enter, oops! I need to get a move on posting for this weeks challenge or Ill miss it again.

You cant see the text very well, it says Santa Claus is coming to town.

I love these, but they werent for a challenge. The text simply says CHRISTMAS in sparkly letters, we all need a bit of sparkle sometimes.

Autumn Glory

I made this card last saturday and I cant believe it has taken me so long to post it!! I should have an excuse but Ive just been busy and then a bit lazy, my bad! Anyway I need to do this quickly as Im off out tonight so I will get to the point.

Its a birthday card for my sister in law from my parents, technically a commission, haha! I bought the paper a little while ago because I thought it was lovely, but I wasnt sure what I would do with it until I found the butterflies on sale and saw the challenge at One Stop Craft ChallengeBut I going to be bold and enter it in this months By the Cute and Girly too. The designs already entered in both challenges are 100% fabulous and make me feel a teeny tiny bit inadequate, but blow it Im still entering.

Colour Create 28

This week at Colour Create the challenge was to use Hot Pink, Dusky Pink and Ice Chocolate. Now I have never completed a challenge based on colour, so I thought I would have a go and this is what I came up with. Its a Birthday card for my sister in law, even though shes been with my Brother for a long time now I still found it quite difficult to make her a personal card, but I think she should be quite pleased with this one.

Plain papers were from Dovecraft Designer Pack. Patterned Paper were free from Crafts Beautiful Magazine. Card was from my stash (I thought I would NEVER use the brown shade, calling it chocolate is much more appealing) and the letters were the same as I have used on most of my Christmas Cards, the Alpha Shimmers. Being somebody that hates waste I used the dots from the middle of the O to make the dots on the side :)

Just dont look to closely, I dont think they are straight! I really enjoyed completing a colour challenge and I hope you like my card. I look forward to the next one.

Papertake 24

This is my last minute entry into this weeks Papertake Challenge, its slightly different from the sketch, but only slightly.

The plain paper is from Dovecraft Designer Pack.

Its not clear in the picture, but the bottom half of the card is covered by a sheet of Anita's Christmas Silver Vellums, this one has a snowflake pattern.

The star paper is part of my stash, I think it must have been another bargin buy there was no label on the back.

The letters are Anita's Silver outline stickers.

The photo was taken buy me back in Feburary when we had the snow. I had a snow day from work so I went for a walk. I thought everything looked so much more beautiful covered in snow, so I took so many photos. I love that I can send christmas cards across the world with pictures of my little town.

I have completed a few more challenges this week so I will be making a few regular posts.

2 Fab Christmas Cards

I have made a late entry for Fab's Big Christmas Card Challenge. Every Christmas I hope for snow, I dont think Im the only one, so Ive made Frosty the Snowman.I didnt realise its such a small picture! Oops.
The snowy paper is from the Deck the Halls collection (papermania or making memories, sorry Im having a blank moment) and all the other parts are from my stash of card and paper stock. I liked it so much I made some more in red.
O and I used my Gel glitter pens to colour in the scarf. I have been working on some other christmas cards to, hopefully I will complete them soon so I can post them too.

Busy weekend, all kinds of cards

Ive been so busy this weekend. Ive made lots Christmas Cards, a Birthday Card and a Wedding card for my cousin. Deck the Halls spotty and Snowflake paper, Kit N Kraft Green paper and some red card from my stash. I thought Id start with the simple cards first and then make the more complicated ones, I have a few ideas going round in my head and Im working on them in my sketch book.This was just made using some freebies from a magazine.

I also made this for my Pops, its not his birthday for a month yet, but hes already gone back to work and wont be back for 7 weeks so I sneeked it into his suitcase. Sometimes simplicity is the best thing. I used paper from my stash for this one. The spotty paper was part of the collection I bought for a snip at my local craft shop :) and I used my flower hole punch to make the embellishments.If I knew somebody who had a baby I think I would have used this paper to make them a card, but I dont.

Aaaaand finally the wedding card. I got to use one of my new stamps. Im not very confident with stamps so Ive only got a little one to start with .

I used Papermania wedding march card stock and pink card from Coredinations for the background and the butterflies, very cute.

I hope you like them all thank you for looking. Hopefully I will have a card for a challenge to post soon.

I was really chuffed this morning after I peeped on here to find that I have been given my FIRST award for flowers sparkles and pretty things from the lovely Judie at I just love Crafty Mess
I left for work feeling special and beeming from ear to ear. I havent chosen who I am going to pass it on to yet, so bribes are welcomed, haha. I will have a think about it and then make another post later to pass on the joy.

Ive been visiting lots of different blogs recently and there are so many talented bloggers out there, far too many to mention by name.
Ive also seen lots and lots of lovely candy - links in sidebar. The latest Ive seen is from Squiggle Stamps if you havent seen it check it out.

Anyway Ive been busy working on some christmas cards, Im not ready to share them yet as I dont think they are as high in standards as some Ive seen, but Im working on them.

Im so excited Ive got a place on my silver jewellery course. Im really looking forward to it, its 10 weeks and Im hoping I get the chance to make some really beautiful things. It starts a week Tuesday.

I really caught the bug for entering Blogger challenges, this is my first entry for Sketch Saturday. Its yet another card for my Brothers 30th Birthday (yes I do like to mention how old hes getting at any opportunity)

Okie first things first here is my entry for this weeks Papertake challenge. Its such a dodgy picture and to be honest Im not that keen on the card anymore, but I said Id post it. Ive not made a card using these colours before I usually use blues, pink and pastel colours so I thought I would challenge myself with something brighter. Most of the paper is from a stash I have collected and never quite known what to do with, I looked for the name on the back of the green leafy paper and realised Id cut it out and stuck on the card, oops! The rest of the green paper is from Kit 'N Kraft summer collection, the same as I used on my brother's birthday card. The lettering is the same too. I made the pink and yello butterlfies.

I also mentioned a get well card I made (to order), here it is. This one I am soooooo pleased with.

Once again it features the gorgeous Alfie, this picture was taken just after hed had a holiday at the vets, so it was perfect for a get well card. This was for my Mum's cousin who lives in South Africa, she has five cats!!! I love the fact that one of my cards is now making its way to the other side of the world. I used the K & Company roam papers like I used for Big Bro's other card.

Ive got cards to blog about but I cant find my camera lead, its so so annoying Ive been busy busy busy today. Ive made a get well card (another featuring Alfie) and Ive made another card for this weeks papertake challenge!!! Ill have to keep looking

My lucky brother

Im on a roll now! Haha. Check out what else Ive made for me lucky lucky big brother (and wifey) They moved into a new flat a couple of days ago and my Mum wants to send then something, my fee will be 1 Cappuncino! The papers are all from K & Company Roam selection. When I bought the pack I thought it looked like a collection of wallpaper - and I mean that in a good way! All this card is missing is some flying ducks, haha!
The font is Malache Crunch, which I found by accident when looking for suitable christamassy fonts. O yes Im starting early!

Also I popped into town today on my lunch break and bought a copy of Quick Cards and a stash of patterned A6 paper, 30 pieces for £4, bargain! The blues and flowers are my favourites. I cant wait to get started on a new project, and with that in mind Im off to look through the new challenges.

Allsorts

This is my very first entry for a blogging competition, its for the weeks allsorts challenge. Its a birthday card for my brother (hes hitting the big 3.0! Haha). This was quite a challenge for me, not only did I have this fab sketch to follow

But somewhere in the design I had to include a torn edge!!!! I love clean straight lines and can often be heard saying "O no its gone all wonkey!" and getting myself in a tizz when Im creating. But actually I found it quite freeing and will definitly be including some torn edges in my future cards and collages.

Enough jacking heres the card.

I was kind of cheep making this one, Im blushing just typing it, but....

The white card and purple paper (around the photo and across the card) are from WH Smith, own range.

The Stripped paper is Lilac Boutique Stripe from Doodlebug Design,

The blue stripe across the page are from Kit 'N Kraft from the summer collection, The lettering (I think) is from Papermania - I dont have any more info as I have thrown away the packaging for it and had to look them up online.

The gems are definitley Papermania.

Finally the image in the centre is not available in any shop, its a photo of my beloved cat Alfie, which I took myself.

I hope he enjoys recieving it as much as I enjoyed making it. I look forward to completing my next blogger challenge, there are so many great ones to try.

This is a new place for me to show off my creative activities. I hope you all enjoy seeing them as much as I do making them.

I thought I would show you some of my past favourites and share some plans for future projects. I thought this paper was so so pretty, I love flowers.

A tradition get well card, made in 'boy colours' as specially requested by the folks. A chocolate and marshmallow inspired card for my very best friends birthday. And finally another special birthday card for a another very special friend. He only had 1 like this!

OK plans for the future include:

1. Many Birthday cards

2. Many many Christmas cards

3. Planning what I could make people for christmas presents (starting early I know, but these things take time)

4. (Hopefully) starting a Jewellery course next month.

So much to do and so little time, but Im excited to get going.
